Help Green Mardi Gras with the Eco Team

Goodwill Easter Seals is a proud member of the Cleaner Greener LODA Committee, created by the Alabama Coast Foundation with the intent of brining sustainable practices to downtown Mobile. The primary focus of this committee is to reduce waste at large public events, which have included 1065 and Mardi Gras.

The Eco Team is currently recruiting volunteers to help recycle during the last four days of Mardi Gras, Saturday, February 25 through Tuesday, February 28, 2017 – a variety of shift options are available. There will be recycling stations set up in Bienville Square, Cathedral Square, the new Mardi Gras Park, and Spanish Plaza marked by high flying flags to bring greater visibility to the area. Parade-goers are encouraged to recycle their plastic bottles and aluminum cans at these locations, at additional recycle containers placed throughout downtown Mobile, and during the parades when the Eco-Team rolls by with their recycle carts.
