Hitt Road Construction

Mobile County has partially closed Hitt Road to perform a road leveling project and install new turning lanes  into the Mobile County Recycling Center. The project is estimated to last six months and begun on October 12th. The Mobile County Recycling Center will remain open during its regular business hours – seven days a week from 8:00-6:30 – for the duration of this period.

Due to ongoing road work, we have had to slightly alter the traffic flow in and out of the Mobile County Recycling Center. Cars are able to enter into the recycling center at the main entrance coming from Schillinger Road  and at what was previously being used as the exit gate coming from Cody Road. If you’re entering from Cody, you will have to loop around the back of the building and through the back gate to access the main entrance and the drop off. To exit, vehicles are directed to go around the building and exit through the back gate. Traffic cones and directional signs have been installed to guide vehicles through the center.
